4Days / 3 Nights Phnom Penh-kep-Kompot (CB06)
Day 1- Arrival-Phnom Penh
Meet guide upon arrival at Phnom Penh international airport. Transfer to hotel and check in. National Museum also called the Musee des Beaux-Art. A French archeologist and painter, Georges Groslier, designed the Khmer-style building in 1917. It contains a large collection of arts, notably sculptures representing in each of the major periods of Khmer history.
Royal palace and Silver pagoda. The palace was built by the French in 1866. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,329 silver tiles. It houses a gold Buddha weighing 90 kilograms and adorned with 2086 diamonds.
Wat Phnom was built by Madam Penh in 1372 when she found a Buddha inside a Koki tree on the site. It is still an important historical side with great religious significance for Cambodians today. Toul Sleng Museum ( S-21 prison) this former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot's security forces. It became the largest center of detention and torture during the brutal rule of the Khmer Rouge and the Killing Fields.
DAY 2 - Phnom Penh – Tonle Bati – Takeo – Phnom Da – Kampot – Kep (B)
Departure from Phnom Penh for Kep En route, stop at Tonle Bati and visit Ta Prohm temple (12-13C) and Yeay Peau temple (12thC). Visit the Prasat Neang Khmao, the temple of the Black Virgin (10thC) and visit a silk weaving village before proceeding to Takeo.
Take a boat from Takeo to Phnom Da (please note that the speedboat does not have a cover or any shade hat and sun tan cream essential.) Visit Phnom Da temple (the climb up is easy as this particular Phnom "hill" is not very high. The path up to the temple is steep, over some big rocks), a pre-Angkorian laterite tower (6thC) and Asram Maharoseil (6thC), an Indian-style sandstone temple constructed in a style unlike any other temple in Cambodia.
Return to Takeo by boat and continue to Kampot and further to the seaside resort of Kep, formerly known as Kep-sur-Mer. This beautiful coastal area was once the favorite holiday spot for Cambodia's French-influenced elite. Check in at hotel.
DAY 3 - Kompot - Bokor National Park Kompot (B)
Drive to Bokor National Park (A pleasant 30 minutes forest walk will take you to the Popokvil Waterfall "access is difficult in wet season and there may be no water in dry season; however, the walk is pleasant at any time!"). Visit the long abandoned hill station of Bokor Mountain: discover the ruins of the former Royal Residence, the church, the casino hotel, overnight in Kompot.
DAY 4 - Kampot - kep - Phnom Penh - Departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel, Take clients for boat trip to Rabbit Island, afternoon drive back to Phnom Penh.
